Jessica Crofoot of Oswego, NY, is a Mudfest veteran. She has participated in three Mudfests so far. It all started when she and her sister were looking for mud/obstacle runs nearby. They found Mudfest and were impressed that it was for a worthy cause. In fact, that’s one of the main reasons Jessica enjoys participating. “Everyone is always so nice, it’s a great atmosphere, and it’s for a good cause,” Jessica said.
Jessica tends to take a relaxed approach toward preparing for the race. She works out daily anyway, and simply adds some running to her routing and “sometimes finds a local park with monkey bars” for extra practice. She said that she likes that Mudfest is so family-friendly, even for those not participating. “We have family that comes along to watch us, and they always have a great time as well,” she said.
Jessica encourages others to participate in Mudfest because she believes in the mission – to have fun while honoring the memory of Daniel Barden. “This is a great race, the location is beautiful, and the people that run it work their butts off to make it a great experience for everyone!”
