Marni Manwarren is an administrative assistant in the Economics Department at Colgate University, as well as a MudFest veteran. Marni has participated in MudFest for many years, but for her, it never gets old – it’s always a time for her to have fun with friends and family.
One of the reasons Marni loves MudFest so much is because she “loves a good challenge” – but even more, she loves that the race is for a good cause. And preparing for the race is a piece of cake for Marni. She also works as a Zumba and Spinning instructor at Colgate and in Sherburne, NY, so she’s pretty much always prepared for the physical demands that MudFest has to offer.
Marni believes MudFest is for everyone, though – “Bring friends and just do it, even if you don’t think you’re in good enough shape,” she offers. “There are some inspirational words at the beginning of the race that get you going, and everyone helps each other through the obstacles.” For Marni, the camaraderie shown at MudFest really brings people together, and at the end of the day, makes them feel great.
“It’s such a great, accomplished feeling at the end.”
